21 years ago today Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort opened their doors!  Coronado Springs Resort is a beautiful moderate resort at Walt Disney World featuring a Southwest theme.  It’s also considered Disney’s convention hotel, and thanks to that designation the amenities are better.

We had the pleasure of staying there this past spring for the first time, and we loved it!

Coronado Springs is going through a major renovation including updating their rooms

And we were lucky enough to stay in one of them!

The room features a very long desk that can also be used as a work station for convention guests along with beautiful laminate flooring.  No more carpet!

Updated sink area

Updated shower

There’s a small refrigerator

A safe

Even a Keurig machine!

We also noticed that Disney no longer has Do Not Disturb signs, they are now room occupied signs.  It’s Disney’s way for more safety and security

And since Coronado Springs is going through a lot of renovations, including an all new restaurant on the lake

and a 15 story tower

We received some magical little gifts for our stay.

You would think with all that construction it would be noisy, but in fact we didn’t hear a thing in our room!

Cheers tip:  If you stay at Coronado Springs try and get a preferred room, that way you will be close to all the amenities including their restaurants and lobby.

We especially enjoyed walking around the resort as the landscaping is beautiful!

So if you are considering staying at a moderate resort at Walt Disney World we would recommend you try Coronado Springs!
