So you are a little new to all this Disney planning stuff, and you are seeing all types of terms and abbreviations you don’t quite understand. No worries, we got you covered!

Here is a little Disney Dictionary of the most common ones you’ll see:

Extra Magic Hours: a perk for people staying at resorts and now some hotels around Disney , that allows the resort guest to enjoy special admission to parks before or after park hours.

FastPass+ :  a way to book a time frame to ride a popular ride in the parks without waiting in long lines.

My Disney Experience:  an area at Disneyworld.com where registered guest can view their plans, tickets and reservations all in one place. It’s also available in the App store and a perfect way to see wait times at the parks, view your fast pass reservations and more!

Magical Express:  complimentary bus transportation and luggage transfer to and from Orlando International Airport to and from your on Disney property resort.

Magic Bands:  wrist bands that you receive with a resort stay that acts as your room key, park tickets and even can use to charge to your account.

Base Ticket: A ticket for admission to just one park per day.

Park Hopper:  An add on ticket that allows you to go to one park to another throughout the same day or length of your stay.

Quick Service: a restaurant where you walk up and order. Basically Disney’s version of a fast food restaurant.

Rope Drop:  the time the park opens and lets guest enter.

Cast Member: a Disney employee

Character Dining:  a restaurant meal that has Disney character interaction. A great way to meet Disney characters!

ADRs- an abbreviation for Advanced Dining Reservations

Photo Pass:  Photos taken by Disney photographers at the parks that guests are able to download and purchase online

Fab Five:  The original Disney characters, Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy.
