Recently we had a chance to stay at one of our bucket list resorts at Walt Disney World Resort…Disney’s Wilderness Lodge!

The moment you walk in you are transported to the rustic beauty of America’s great Northwest!

The lobby is absolutely stunning as you walk in and check in was a breeze.

Front desk

It took us a minute to take in all of the lobby as the details where amazing from the huge fireplace

To the totem poles

And of course, the start of the geyser right there in the lobby

We were assigned a room on the 6th floor with a courtyard view.

As we made our way to our room, we were impressed by all the little details

As we walked in to the room to our right was coffee station with a refrigerator.

And to our left was the sink area of the bathroom, which is separate from the shower area.  We found this area to be just a little small, but workable

The shower area was really cute featuring tiles of Bambi, Racoon, and Chip and Dale and included a full tub.

The bedroom featured two queen sized beds with a nature scene as the head board. And carved animals on top

 And Thumper pillows!

The best part of the bed was the light control for each light on the bed!

The room also featured a table with two chairs

Tv dresser

And an outside patio…our room featured an enclosed patio which provided privacy, but I think we would have preferred an open balcony so we could see through to the resort.

But the view was awesome!!

The Wilderness Lodge offers many amenities including a spa, 3 pools and plenty of places to eat including Roaring Forks, their quick service location, Whispering Canyon Café, an Old West themed buffet and  one of our favorite places…the Geyser Point Bar and Grill where you can eat outside and even catch the electric water parade each night.

And just recently Wilderness Lodge became the home of Storybook Dining at Artist Point featuring Snow White, Grumpy, Dopey, and the Evil Queen.   We will review that later.

All in all we loved Wilderness Lodge…although we did have some trouble with transportation.  At the Wilderness they offer bus and boat transportation.  But just be aware for bus transportation you are sharing the ride with other resorts in the area so factor that in when you are planning the time it takes to get to your destination.

We did enjoy the boat rides…one to Magic Kingdom and one going to Contemporary Resort.  Especially since the one going to Magic kingdom has its own separate security gate so lines are a lot less.

Cheers tip…if you find the wait for the boat to Magic Kingdom is way to long…then you might consider taking the boat to the Contemporary Resort and from there you can jump on the monorail or take the walking path to Magic Kingdom.

Have any questions?  We would be happy to hear from you!

Cheers for Disney’s Wilderness Lodge!
